    Learn your editing styles

    Connect your Lightroom Classic catalog and photo folders. PixelPeeper learns from a sample of your previous edits, starting with the most recent.

    Auto-cull your shoot

    Select a RAW folder. Get suggested picks from similar frames, with exposure, focus, and face checks to help you review. Change any pick before saving.

    Apply your style to the picks

    Choose a learned style and apply it across the Culled folder. PixelPeeper saves the adjustments as XMP sidecars alongside each compatible RAW copy.

    Finish in Lightroom

    Import the Culled folder into Lightroom Classic. Your edits come with it, ready for a final review and your finishing touches.

What do I need?

A Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later, and a confirmed PixelPeeper account. Apple silicon and Intel are supported. Learning needs a Lightroom Classic .lrcat catalog and access to the original RAW photos. You can cull shoots without learning a style first. The cloud-based Lightroom library isn’t supported. Sign-in and account validation require an internet connection.

How do I install the beta?

Download the ZIP, open it, and move PixelPeeper to Applications. Launch it, choose Connect account, and finish signing in in your browser. Return to the app to add a shoot or connect your Lightroom catalog.

How does learning work?

Close Lightroom Classic so its latest edits are saved, then select your catalog and connect your photo folders. PixelPeeper reads a sample of originals and their recorded edits to learn compatible styles locally. It starts with the last two years and goes further back if it needs more examples.

Learning needs at least 30 usable RAW examples across five capture dates for a style, plus a successful validation check. Only usable styles appear in My styles. Recent edits from different shoots help; missing photos are replaced with other available examples where possible.

Will this change my originals?

No. Culling copies your picks into a Culled folder inside your shoot directory. Applying a style writes XMP sidecars next to those copies. Your source photos and Lightroom catalog stay unchanged, and every suggested pick is yours to change.

How do I import the edits into Lightroom?

Keep the copied RAW files and their matching .xmp files together. In Lightroom Classic, choose File → Import Photos and Video, select Culled, and use Add. Enable Include Subfolders if needed. Leave Develop Settings and Metadata set to None so an import preset doesn’t replace the edits.

If Lightroom skips the copies as suspected duplicates, review that import option. For copies already in your catalog, select them and choose Metadata → Read Metadata from Files. This replaces their current catalog adjustments with the sidecar settings. The app includes this guide beside your saved shoot.

Which RAW files and edits are supported?

The beta applies styles to supported NEF, CR2, CR3, ARW, RAF, ORF, and RW2 files that macOS can decode and that match the style’s camera. It supports a subset of global Lightroom adjustments, including tone, HSL, and grain. Masks, crops, lens corrections, and some other settings aren’t reproduced. Any referenced camera profile must already be installed in Lightroom. Review the result there before exporting.

Do my photos leave my Mac?

No. Catalog analysis, learning, and photo processing happen on your Mac. PixelPeeper contacts the website for account access, updates, and optional usage information. Your photos, catalog contents, filenames, and folder paths aren’t uploaded.

What does “Share my usage info” send?

Usage sharing is on by default to help improve the beta. You can opt out during setup or anytime in Settings. It sends app actions, standard error categories, and app and macOS versions, linked to your connected account. It does not include photos, catalog contents, filenames, folder paths, or error-message text.

Turning it off stops new events and discards unsent activity. Deleting your account removes previously received usage history. Sharing doesn’t affect access to the beta.

Is the beta free, and how do updates work?

It’s free during the beta, with no Premium subscription required. Pricing after the beta hasn’t been decided. The app checks for updates automatically and asks before installing. You can also choose Check for Updates from the PixelPeeper menu.

How do I disconnect my account?

Choose Sign out in the app, or revoke access from Manage connected Macs. Disconnecting doesn’t delete your catalog or photos.
