The details behind your photos, inside your AI assistant.

Connect PixelPeeper to Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex. Share a photo URL, scan a website, or revisit photos in your account. Your assistant can explain the camera settings and Lightroom edits actually embedded in each file.

A confirmed PixelPeeper account is required. Your assistant will ask you to sign in and approve access.

One connection for your photos.

Connect once. Then ask away.

No API key or client registration needed. Availability of custom connections depends on your assistant’s plan and workspace settings.

Claude Custom connector
  1. Open Customize → Connectors in Claude. Choose + → Add custom connector.
  2. Name it PixelPeeper and paste the server URL above. Leave the optional OAuth credentials empty.
  3. Add the connector, choose Connect, and approve access in PixelPeeper.
  4. In a conversation, enable PixelPeeper from + → Connectors.

For a team workspace, an owner may need to add the connector first.

ChatGPT Custom MCP connection
  1. In ChatGPT settings, open Security and login and enable Developer mode.
  2. Open Plugins, choose the plus button, and name the connection PixelPeeper.
  3. Enter the server URL above. Use OAuth if asked for authentication. Automatic registration handles the client details; if a client ID is required, use pixelpeeper-chatgpt with no secret.
  4. Create the connection, sign in to PixelPeeper, and approve access. Add PixelPeeper from the tools menu in a new conversation.

Codex Terminal setup

Run these commands with the Codex CLI installed, then complete the sign-in that opens in your browser:

Another assistant Compatible MCP clients

Add the server URL as a remote, Streamable HTTP MCP server and select OAuth authentication. Clients that support automatic registration can connect without a client ID or secret. Other clients may need administrator configuration.

  • “Scan this webpage with PixelPeeper and compare the settings across its photos.”
  • “Show my recent PixelPeeper photos and explain the edits in the latest one.”

Good to know

Working with local photos

Your assistant needs file-upload support to send a local photo through this connection. Attaching a photo to a chat doesn’t automatically share it with PixelPeeper. You can always upload it in the Inspector while signed in, then ask your assistant about your recent photos.

Real metadata, with clear limits

Files don’t always contain camera settings or Lightroom edits. PixelPeeper reports what it finds; missing edits aren’t reconstructed by this connection. Website scans and larger photos can take a little time—ask your assistant to check the result again.

Usage and access

Free accounts can analyze two new photos and start two website scans per 48 hours. Upload preparations also have a limit of two per 48 hours. Premium removes those allowances and supports files over 30 MB, up to 100 MB. Your assistant’s own charges and limits still apply.

Connecting grants access to your PixelPeeper photos and analyses. You can revoke it anytime in Connected apps.
